History of Alpenhotel

In 1949 until 1951 Friedericke and Heinz Thomas, the parents of Helmuth Thomas, started to build the Alpenhotel (26 rooms – 48 beds, no dining room).

1955	Opening Hotel restaurant (5 o’clock tea and evening dance)
1957	Opening “Kuhstallbar”
1962	Extension Forsthaus (now Old wing) – Bowling alley
1964	Extension Middle wing: 2 Strories
1967	Divorcement of parents, start of Mr. Thomas in Alpenhotel
1968	Main Building from 2 Strories and 2 Roofs converted into 5 normal Strories
1969	Reconstruction from “Milk Bar Almstube” into “Thomas Pub”
1972	Opening Discotheque “Arena Dancing“
1974	Opening “Kneipe” beer drinking place 1^st marriage Mr. Thomas with a Danish girl. two children
1978	Overtaking management and responsibility of the company Mr. Helmuth Thomas
1980	Reconstruction Middle wing 3^rd and 4^th floor apartments and suites as well as swimming pool, sauna, jaccuzzi
1984	Second marriage Helmuth Thomas with Brigitte Thomas, one child (Vanessa)
1985	Renovation: Apartments and Suites in main building in 1^st and 2^nd floor and new main kitchen
1986	Building of conference facilities up to 250 persons and Vitrine restaurant
1990	closed at summer, new rooms in main building 3^rd and 4^th floor and 1^st and 2^nd floor in middle wing and rebuilding Happy Saloon
1990	Building of new Staff house for 60 staff members “Haus Brigitte"
1993	Hotel terrace and extension of hotel underneath the hotel terrace
1994	Instauration of hotel entry, purchase of green area at the back of the hotel (2650 m²)
1996	New hotel restaurant and restaurant “Pipamex” replacing “Kneipe” Three winters in a row with little snow, very small investments
2000	New Restaurant “La Trattoria” replacing “Thomas Pub”
2002	Alterations in Arena Dancing and New Ski & boot room
2004	New “Asian Wok Restaurant” in the Vitrine Restaurant
2006	New Suites at 3^rd and 4^th floor, replacing the apartments dating from 1980 and building of new reception
2007	New paint-coating (old colours outside the hotel, blond replacing dark ) new lift from carrying 4 to carry 7 persons
2008	Rebuilding of Discotheque “Arena Dancing” into Restaurant “Pipamex-Fancy Salsa Restaurant” as well as Rebuilding of the old “Pipamex” into “Smoker´s Lounge” and “Kaiserstube”
2009	Remodelling of the “Kuhstall-Bar”
